The nose if deep and rich with flavours of baked peaches, grapefruit pith, yellow nectarine, apple pie, mealy, flinty. The palate presents lighter fruits with white nectarine, fresh peaches, hazelnuts, almond, lemon curd. Texturally it is still quite lean, but this will change over time, with focused acid structure it is a wine that is built to last. So much flavour packed into each mouthful you’ll notice a new nuance each sip
Sourced from two of Tumbarumba's oldest vineyards; Johansen/Glenburny and Wondalma. Grapes are handpicked and whole bunch pressed straight to 60% new French & Austrian barriques and puncheons – balance to 1 to 2 year French and Austrian barriques for 10 months. Wild yeast fermented and left on lees to go through full malolactic fermentation. The wine is then kept on lees. Barrels are stirred fortnightly and topped weekly. No finings. Filtered and bottled at the end of January 2023
