RESTAURANT FAQS

When can I visit?

Heywood is open from 11am to 5pm, Thursday to Sunday. Our kitchen opens at 11am and final food orders must be placed by 4pm.

Please refer to our socials or join our mailing list for updated hours, including extended trade on summer weekends. Please note, Heywood is closed for public holidays, a 2-week break over Christmas.

Do I need to book in advance?

We strongly recommend booking a table ahead of time, especially when planning a weekend visit.

How do I make a booking?

Use the online booking widget to make your 2-hour dining reservation up to 3 months in advance. Please count children in the booking numbers as they deserve a chair too. Failure to include all guests may result in the allocation of a smaller table than needed!

Groups of 9-20

Guests dine on a set menu of $90pp. Bookings can be made online for your convenience.

Groups of 21-40

Guests dine on a set menu of $90pp. Please email heywood@nickolearywines.com.au to talk to our bookings team about availability.

Groups of 41+

Guests must book exclusive use of the venue. Minimum spend applies. Please contact heywood@nickolearywines.com.au to get in touch with our events team.

A pre-authorisation of $50pp is required to complete your reservation. This is not a deposit and does not get deducted from your bill – it is there in case of cancellation.

What is your cancellation policy?

If cancelling or rescheduling within 6 hours of your booking, the full charge of pre-authorisation applies. Pre-authorisation will also be charged for no-shows.

Can I bring the kids?

First and foremost, Heywood is a venue focused on showcasing wine. That being said, we do have 10 highchairs available and though they cannot be reserved in advance, we have never run out! Many of our main dishes have been approved by little people and the menu also offers a kids snack plate. Please note, we are not the venue for children’s birthday parties and sports presentations. Please supervise your children at all times.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Well-behaved dogs (and cats) are welcome to join you when dining outside. When booking a table, please select the ‘I’m bringing a dog’ option. Please be considerate of other guests and keep all animals on a leash, noting that our venue is not gated or fenced. It is your responsibility to clean up after them.

Can the Heywood menu be modified for dietary requirements?

Please outline your dietary requirements when completing the online booking form. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options are available on request. For larger groups dining on the set menu, dietary requirements need to be communicated one week prior to ensure we’re prepared for your visit.

Can I order a coffee?

Heywood doesn’t do coffee - while this may come as a shock to some, we have decided to leave the coffee service up to the professionals so as not to dilute our beverage offering. Our team has meticulously hand curated our beverage and wine program, and we all hope you can find a way to forgive our lack of coffee selection – if it’s caffeine you crave, why not try our espresso martini?

Can I bring a cake?

Cakes are the only external food or beverage that can be consumed at the venue. We charge $5 per person for cakeage

Can I visit the winery and vineyard?

Sadly, not yet! As much as our team would love to invite you in, the winery is in constant action and the vineyards are closed to public access to prevent the spread of pesky disease that may be brought in on your tyres or shoes. Watch this space for exclusive meet the maker events and behind-the-scenes tours of the property.

How can I get to and from the venue?

Local transport services including ACT Cabs and Uber are available for drop off. For larger groups and buses, contact your local bus provider, but be sure to contact the venue before arrival for parking and drop off availability. The best way for a confirmed pickup is to organise with your driver directly.
